The Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)* works proactively at speeds over 45 MPH to help keep the vehicle centered inside a detected lane by providing steering torque so long as there is no turn signal activated. A camera located between the windshield and the rearview mirror can detect lane separation markings, and as the vehicle moves from the center of the lane, the Electric Power Steering system applies torque to return the vehicle to the middle of the lane. The farther it gets from the center, the more torque is applied. The Lane Keeping Assist System is not a substitute for steering the vehicle. The driver must keep their hands on the wheel for the system to operate.
Helps maintain a constant vehicle speed and a set following interval behind a vehicle detected ahead of yours and, if the detected vehicle comes to a stop, can decelerate and stop your vehicle.
RDM is designed to enhance driver confidence by helping to keep your vehicle from unintentionally drifting over detected lane markings. Watch this video to learn how it works and provides warnings. Plus, you’ll find out how to customize when it kicks in, how alerts are given and the procedure for turning the system off and on.
To help reduce the likelihood or severity of a frontal impact, the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) uses both a radar system and a high-resolution forward camera to recognize hazards such as vehicles or a pedestrian. The system can use up to 80% of full braking power to avoid or reduce impact with the detected object.
