HOLLOW-een at the Cave

Child Dressed as Batman

Halloween Fun

Need something festive to do with your family this month in celebration of Halloween? Cave of the Mounds in Blue Mounds is giving families the perfect opportunity for children to wear their Halloween costumes more than just once this year. October 25-31, weekdays on the hour from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and weekends on the half hour from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the Cave of the Mounds will be hosting family-friendly, trick or treat cave tours! Although Cave of the Mounds is a 40-minute drive from Wilde East Towne Honda, this special event gives families the perfect excuse to finally make the drive out there and explore the incredible cave!

Festive Activities

The event is packed full of fun, Halloween activities for children. Gemstone and fossil “treats” will be provided to kids who attend the tour. There will also be a costume contest, with bonus treats for kids who decide to dress up for the cave tour. Families can also dig for “bones” in the fossil dig, explore the scavenger hunt trail, and participate in the coloring contest daily.

On the weekend, the event gets even more special! Saturday and Sunday’s events will include a candle-lit cave tour and free, tractor-pulled hayrides! Families can also check out the historic barn discovery center for additional crafts and activities. At 2 p.m. in the discovery center, Cave of the Mounds will host a seasonal storytime!
