First-Ever Honda Civic Type-R Auctioned Off For Charity

Wilde East Towne Honda is proud to be Madison’s dealer for new Honda’s; but on top of selling cars, we are committed to supporting our community.

The same holds true about the company that makes the cars we sell.

That is why Honda Motor Company donated over $200,000 to charity on June 15. Honda partnered with Bring-a-Trailer to auction off the first-ever 2017 Honda Civic Type-R, all for charity.

The final auction amount, plus a 5% buyer fee, was donated to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, a 501c3 charity that Honda has raised over $30 million for since 1991. Donations from users on Bring A Trailer provided another $8,640 for PBTF.

The winning bid of $200,000 was placed by HappyCappyAuto. For the rest of the world, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R will become available later this summer at a price of $34,775.

The Civic Type-R features a sporty sleek design, with a dynamic rear wing, signature red Honda badges, and a 6-speed manual transmission. A 2.0-Liter turbo engine boasts 306 horsepower. It is the most powerful Honda production engine in America, having propelled the vehicle to the Nurburgring lap record for front-wheel-drive cars.

This powerful Civic Type-R can be yours in a couple months. Be sure to check our inventory at Wilde East Towne Honda!
