Get Your Car Winter Ready
The weather is chilly, reminding us the winter is just around the corner. In some places in Wisconsin, snow has already fallen. Now is the time to prepare your car for winter. Below are a few helpful tips to get your vehicle ready for the chilly months ahead.
Get Your Car Serviced
Start the season off right by ensuring your vehicle is in optimal condition by getting it inspected by a certified technician. Contact one of our friendly Service Advisors at 608-268-6131 or visit us online by clicking this link to schedule a tune-up and other routine maintenance. You’ll want to make sure your entire vehicle is checked for leaks, worn hoses, or other needed parts, repairs, and replacements. While you are in for your service, our Advisors will check for any recalls that may need taken care of.
While your vehicle is in for a service, ask our Advisors to check the battery. Cold weather is hard on batteries. Gasoline and diesel engines take more battery power to start your vehicle in cold weather. While electric and hybrid-electric vehicles, the driving range is reduced when the battery is cold, and battery systems work better after they warm up.
Also, make sure all your lights are working. It’s a quick, simple fix while you are in for service. We will also check your cooling system and top off any fluids. It’s also a good idea to get new windshield wipers so you can clearly see the road during poor weather.
Tires are another big item that should be checked. It’s good practice to rotate your tires at every oil change. If your tires are worn, it’s a good idea to get new tires. Regardless of the season, inspect your tires at least once a month and before long road trips. You may also see your Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light turn on during weather fluctuations. We have specials for many of our services. You can find our specials by going to this link: Service Specials. Don’t forget to print out the special and show it to your Service Advisor before you checkout.
